Approach:

The space at Healthy Balance gets a lot of comments from clients - it feels very much like walking into a living room. A lot of effort and thought has been put into creating an atmosphere that is calm, relaxing, and peaceful. It is not uncommon for a client to come early for their appointment just to relax in this space. This feeling extends into Heather's office. It is of paramount importance for the client to feel at ease, heard and respected. Heather takes a holistic approach to her work meaning that she will encourage you to consider all areas of your wellbeing. Heather believes counselling is more than just talking about what is happening in your life. She focuses on providing pragmatic skill building and strategies to help support you toward your personal goal, whatever that might be. The environment is quite inclusive and welcoming to all diverse backgrounds and identities. Heather
believes strongly in sharing resources and will often provide handouts, articles, or recommend books that can bridge the gap between the therapy session and day-to-day life.
