Individual Therapy at White Pine Recovery

There's a particular kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix. You can't remember the last time most of your days felt more good than bad. Getting through them takes more than it used to — showing up, holding it together, pretending you're fine when you're not. You've told yourself it will pass, that you should be able to handle this. But it hasn't passed, and you're starting to wonder if you're doing something wrong.

You're not. Life is often harder than one person can carry alone, and you weren't built to carry it that way. What you're feeling — the anxiety that won't quiet down, the heaviness that colors everything, the sense that you're not quite yourself anymore — makes sense given what you've been through. It doesn't mean you're broken. It means you need somewhere safe to finally set some of it down.

What brings people to us

Our clients come to therapy for all kinds of reasons, and rarely just one:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Body image issues and disordered eating
  • Maternal mental health

Sometimes the struggle is tangled up in a marriage or a family relationship. Sometimes it isn't about anyone else at all — it's just you, trying to understand why you feel the way you feel and what to do about it. Either way, you belong here.

What changes when we work together

We'll help you learn to calm your body and mind before spiraling patterns take over completely, and understand where your anxiety or depression comes from so it has less power over your day-to-day life. If relationships — a spouse, your kids, family, work — are part of what's weighing on you, we'll help you get clarity on what's actually happening there, not just how to cope with it.

Some of our clients come to us feeling fundamentally changed by something that was simply too much to carry alone. If that's you, we want you to know: you're not broken. We'll help you get centered again in your own heart, and reacquainted with the person you were before this got so heavy.

Most of all, we take the time to actually know you — the full complexity of what's working in your life and what isn't. From there, we help you build on what's already strong in you, so you can start to feel the peace and confidence you've been looking for.

How we work

We draw on a few key approaches, chosen because they work, not because they're trendy:

Mind-Body Bridging, which helps you safely integrate and acknowledge emotions that can feel overwhelming or like they've hijacked you entirely.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which makes real room for the unpleasant thoughts and feelings you've been carrying quietly. Often the thing we're not saying out loud is the very thing tripping us up.

Deep experience with relationships. Many of our individual clients arrive feeling lost or hurt in a relationship that matters to them. We understand that there are no simple situations here — and we can help you find yourself again while strengthening the relationships you care about most.

All of our therapists hold master's degrees and are licensed to provide psychotherapy. Our talented, compassionate associate therapists are supervised by fully licensed clinicians, so you get the care of your therapist alongside the experience of the seasoned professional guiding their work.

Sessions and Insurance

We offer 50- or 80-minute individual sessions. We are not in-network with any insurance plans, but if you have out-of-network benefits, we're happy to provide a superbill for reimbursement.

It's time to stop dreading and start living again.
