Biography
I received my Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University and my Doctoral Degree from Northern Illinois University. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Internship at the Ann Arbor VA in association with the University of Michigan, and my PostDoctoral Residency at the University of Michigan/Ann Arbor VA Clinical Psychology Consortium.

I spent the majority of my education obtaining specialized training in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (Worry), Panic Disorder with or without Agoraphobia, Health Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In private practice, I spend most of my time seeing clients with these symptoms and work hard to stay involved in continuing education involving these disorders. I am currently a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA). I would describe my therapeutic approach to be cognitive behavioral (CBT), with an emphasis on the behavioral. I also like to integrate other third wave mindfulness-based CBT approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy when indicated.

I believe that success in therapy relies upon a foundation of mutual trust and a sense of safety, and that the therapeutic alliance is one of the most important factors in helping clients improve and reach their goals.
