Registered Clinical Counsellor — Vancouver & Online Across BC

Life keeps moving, but something inside may no longer fit the way it once did.

Some people arrive in counselling in the midst of a crisis. Others come with a quieter awareness that the way they’ve been living, coping, or carrying things may need attention. Often, what brings someone here is not a single problem, but a growing sense that something important is being asked of them.

If you’re here, you are welcome to come as you are. You don’t need clarity, confidence, or the right words. My hope is that what you bring will be met with care, respect, and hope.

A bit about me

I come to this work shaped by experiences of belonging and not belonging—living between cultures, expectations, and identities. Before private practice, I worked as a lawyer, later as a pastor, and also in a recovery centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Over more than fourteen years in roles of care and support, I’ve learned to respect the dignity and complexity of each person’s story, and I don’t believe anyone is beyond hope or beyond the possibility of change.

I am personally shaped by Christian faith, which informs how I see people and their stories. At its heart is the conviction that each person carries inherent dignity, and that grace reaches further than shame. For some, faith is steady; for others it is complicated or in transition. If questions of meaning, doubt, or spiritual disorientation are part of what you’re carrying, we can explore them carefully and without pressure, looking through faith as a lense rather than using it as a measuring stick.

How I work

Counselling is not a technique applied to you. It is a collaborative process shaped by your story, your present circumstances, and the direction you’re trying to move. Therapy here moves at a human pace—some sessions are active and focused, others quieter and reflective.

In sessions, we often focus on:
  • Slowing things down rather than rushing toward solutions
  • Understanding patterns that repeat under stress
  • Making space for emotions that feel overwhelming, muted, or hard to name
  • Working with the “parts” of you that learned to cope and protect
The aim is not to rewrite the past, but to relate to it more truthfully so the future is not confined by it. Change is explored, not imposed.

Areas of focus
  • Anxiety, shame, and self-criticism
  • Burnout and overwork
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions and identity shifts
  • Addiction and recovery
  • Relationship strain
  • Men’s emotional and relational life
  • Faith, doubt, and spiritual disorientation

What this work can support

Over time, clients often experience the benefits of:
  • Greater emotional steadiness and clarity
  • A less shame-driven inner life
  • Healthier relational patterns and boundaries
  • Increased freedom and integrity in decision-making
  • A more grounded sense of identity during seasons of change
  • If something here resonates, even faintly, that may be enough to begin. You don’t need certainty—only enough willingness to take a first step.
