Ray St-Amour, MSW, RSW

Ray has worked with individuals and youth in various settings for over 30 years. She has also worked in the field of woman abuse and as a Mobile After Hours Crisis Worker for a mental health agency as well as a clinician for a non-profit organization. She is currently working in  private practice.  


 
Ray specializes in trauma and has her Clinical Traumatologist Training certificate as well as her Compassionate Fatigue training from the Traumatology Institute, Toronto. Ray specializes in EMDR, a technique that reprocesses traumatic events. She also specializes in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. She has her Anger Solutions certificate from Anger Solutions. She has worked with children, youth, individuals, couples and seniors. Ray uses a mixture of various therapy modes as she believes that each client is unique and may respond in a different way to various therapy modalities.  


Ray graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in psychology and sociology and her B. Ed. She has spent over 20 years teaching various subjects. These included Guidance as well as Special Education. She has her Bachelors in Social Work from York University and then her Master in Social Work in the clinical stream from Wilfrid Laurier University. Ray is a Registered Social Worker. She is also registered with the Ontario Association of Social Workers.  


 

Ray is passionate about helping clients reach their full potential. Ray is genuine and transparent in her approach. Her goal is to help you, the client, attain your full potential. In the  first appointment you will establish your goals for therapy and they will be reviewed regularly to see if they have changed and if you are on your way to reaching them.  Ray’s goal is to see you improve and to be able to have a full life without the issues that have brought you to her door.   Ray is francophone and can counsel clients in either French or English.

 

Marianne Breadner, MSW, RSW

Marianne Breadner is an experienced therapist who specializes in working with children and youth and their families.  Over the past 33 years,  she has worked with youth in various settings including residential treatment facilities, open custody settings, women’s shelters, schools, and mental health agencies. 

Marianne utilizes various modalities of therapy including cognitive behaviour therapy and narrative therapy.  Marianne has presented at numerous conferences and workshops on such topics as anxiety, child sexual abuse, dealing with loss, diversity issues, youth and self harming behaviours, children who witness women abuse, and working with LGBT youth.  She has piloted and facilitated groups in cognitive behaviour therapy for anxious children and teens, social skills, anger management, self esteem, LGBT youth, and conflict resolution.

Marianne originally received a B.A. in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo and then went on to complete both a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Social Work from York University.  Marianne continues her professional growth through on going training and attends numerous workshops and conferences.  Marianne is a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
