Pine Heights Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is located in Baltimore, Maryland. We are one of the leading outpatient opioid addiction treatment centers in Baltimore, serving adults of all genders age 18 and older who are struggling with opioid addictions. Opioids are a class of drugs that includes heroin, fentanyl, morphine, OxyContin, and other prescription pain medications.

Pine Heights CTC offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which is an evidence-based form of opioid addiction treatment recommended by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other respected health organizations. Medication-assisted treatment integrates the use of prescription medication and counseling to help patients build a strong foundation for long-term addiction recovery. The medications used in MAT can relieve the severe opioid withdrawal symptoms that often cause people to avoid seeking treatment. Depending on a person’s history of drug use, withdrawing from opioids can be a painful experience with extreme cravings that are difficult to overcome. The medications used in MAT can help alleviate discomfort and reduce cravings, making the withdrawal experience more manageable. When patients have fewer and milder withdrawal symptoms, they can better focus on the therapeutic aspects of treatment.

At Pine Heights CTC, we can prescribe multiple different types of medications that are FDA-approved to treat opioid addiction, including methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. To determine which medication will be most effective, all patients complete a thorough assessment with a qualified professional before beginning treatment at our CTC. Our team works closely with each patient to understand their needs, the obstacles they are facing, and overall health to determine which medication and dosage level are best for them.

Group and individual therapies are important elements of each patient’s individualized treatment plan. During group counseling, patients meet with their peers to discuss the successes and challenges of recovering from opioid addiction. By sharing with others, patients can give and receive helpful feedback while also beginning to build a recovery network that can support them after treatment is over. During private counseling sessions at our treatment center, patients meet with qualified mental health professionals to discuss personal issues they may prefer not to share in a group setting. The counselor provides feedback and helps the patient practice the skills they need to avoid drug use in the long term. Every patient at Pine Heights CTC in Baltimore receives the support and compassionate care they need to help them overcome opioid addiction.
