Pottstown Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is located in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are seeking treatment for opioid addiction. Our leading MAT program incorporates prescription medication and counseling to help people end opioid use and maintain lasting recovery from opioid addiction.

MAT programs have helped people recover from addictions for decades. Methadone clinics in the U.S. have a history of effective treatment; however, they are limited to providing only one type of medication. Our outpatient addiction treatment center is authorized to prescribe Suboxone, naltrexone, and methadone. These medications have been found to be effective in treating the symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Opioid withdrawal can be uncomfortable and, in severe cases, painful. Some side effects of withdrawal are even life-threatening. Alleviating the suffering of our patients by administering FDA-approved prescription medications helps them stay focused on other aspects of recovery. MAT is a highly recommended approach to addiction treatment. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration both support the use of MAT to help people who have an addiction to heroin, morphine, fentanyl, OxyContin, and other opioid-based prescription painkillers.

Patients at Pottstown CTC receive an individualized care plan based on their needs and the results of the admissions health assessment. Every new patient meets with one of our healthcare professionals to discuss health history, including addiction history, and undergo a complete health evaluation. At this time, patients are encouraged to ask questions and share concerns. Once all the pertinent information is collected, our team can begin designing a personalized plan.

At Pottstown CTC, MAT includes both individual and group counseling. Counseling sessions are a crucial component of medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction. Medications help with the physical component of addiction, and therapy assists with the mental, emotional, and social components. Group therapy is a place to share personal struggles, insights, and successes with peers who understand what you are going through. A qualified mental health professional guides the group, keeping discussions on-topic and meaningful. During individual therapy, the counselor provides feedback and helps patients practice the new skills they need to maintain recovery. One-on-one therapy is a time to share personal concerns that may have contributed to opioid use and find ways to resolve those concerns. Every patient at our CTC receives the personalized care, respect, and support needed to help build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.
