No matter where you are in life, I believe that everyone can use a little assistance to get where they want to be.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is proud to offer Couples & Individual therapy that helps each client identify what is working, what not working, and how to target the parts you decide are not working using a solution based approach to transformation.

As a person and as a therapist, I recognize that we all have parts of our lives where we want to see change take place. My goal as a therapist is to offer a supportive and safe environment for each of my clients to work through the challenges they are struggling with.

The heart of my therapeutic approach is driven by a desire to assist each client in developing insight into why they are experiencing life as they are and collaboratively generating solutions for change. I use an integrated therapy approach that highlights exploration, introspection, healing, and growth.

EMDR: EYE-MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING

WHAT IS EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a powerful therapeutic technique that uses bilateral stimulation to assist clients in processing distressing memories and beliefs. The process of EMDR therapy typically involves focusing on a traumatic or disturbing memory while using visual or audio stimulation to assist the brain in resolving trauma and gaining insight into the situation.

HOW IS EMDR INCORPORATED INTO THERAPY?
As an EMDR trained therapist, I work with clients to incorporate EMDR in a way that best serves treatment goals and the integrity of the therapeutic process.
When appropriate, EMDR may be used as a treatment all by itself, as a tool that is combined with traditional talk therapy, or anything in between.

HOW LONG DOES EMDR TAKE?
One or more sessions are required to understand the nature of the situation and to decide whether EMDR is an appropriate treatment. The type of situation, life circumstances, and the amount of previous trauma will help determine how many treatment sessions are recommended.

WHAT CAN EMDR HELP WITH?
  • Trauma
  • Disturbing Memories
  • Panic Attacks
  • Eating Disorders
  • Sexual and/or Physical Abuse
  • Grief
  • PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
