Are you looking for an experienced counselor to help you navigate life’s
challenges? With few exceptions, most people benefit from a short-term,
solution-focused approach to therapy. Counseling is about healing, gaining
tools to deal with life’s obstacles, and moving on with the rest of your life.
I have worked in the counseling field for over 25 years. I help people
with a variety of problems, including stress, anxiety, perfectionism, people
pleasing, life transitions, relationship patterns, communication, grief, and
more.
No one
chooses to get stuck. Sometimes our attempts to deal with a problem made sense
in the past but are no longer working. I will provide a safe, respectful
environment where you and I will move at your pace as we work together to learn
new ways to fully engage in life and live by the values important to you.
Because
there is no one approach to therapy that works for everyone, I use a variety of
evidence-based approaches to help you move toward better balance in your
feelings, actions, and relationships.
I
currently provide counseling online through secure Zoom. Online counseling with
a private therapist is carried out in the same manner as in-person counseling. Some
of the benefits of this approach include its effectiveness based on numerous
studies, ease of use (no driving to appointments), and its privacy. Insurance
covers counseling both online and in-person. Private
therapy using this format should not be confused with some of the “big box”
therapy corporations that use a subscription model. This is actual counseling
between you and the therapist.
You can go to aldercreekcounseling.com or send me a message via the
online form or email to learn more about my approach and how counseling might
benefit you. I have a section that describes what to expect from therapy and
how the process works. I accept insurance from several carriers. I also accept
private pay clients. The decision to use insurance or not is up to you, and you’ll
also find a page on my website to help you make that decision.
Whatever
your reason for seeking counseling, I’m glad you’ve decided to take this first
step.
Note: While I enjoy working with individuals from all faiths (or no faith at all), I do have a Christian worldview and offer Christian counseling to those interested. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
