Richmond Comprehensive Treatment Center View Specialties

Richmond Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers premier addiction treatment services for individuals who are struggling with opioid addictions. Services available at Richmond CTC include medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines the use of prescription medication with individual and group counseling.

Adults age 18 and older who take part in MAT at our Richmond, Indiana, clinic have the option of methadone, Suboxone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone. Traditionally, only methadone was available for medication-assisted treatment, and many treatment centers continue to offer methadone as the only medication option. Richmond CTC provides clients with a range of opioid addiction treatment medications. We believe that a variety of medication options can better serve a client’s unique needs. Variety also gives our outpatient addiction treatment center physicians the flexibility to adjust medications if a client is struggling with cravings or withdrawal symptoms.

All medications offered at Richmond CTC are FDA-approved and support clients in maintaining a healthy, opioid-free lifestyle. Medication-assisted treatment works by providing clients with relief from the cravings and withdrawal effects produced by opioids. These medications provide psychological and physical support without the many negative effects of opioids. Medications are prescribed and clients are carefully monitored.

MAT has proved to have such high success rates that it has become the opioid treatment approach recommended by leading behavioral health organizations. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) both recommend MAT as the best way to safely and effectively treat opioid addiction.

At Richmond CTC, we understand that while the medications used in MAT are a highly effective tool for stopping opioid abuse, they don’t address or counter the underlying reasons that have caused opioid addiction. MAT at Richmond CTC involves participation in both individual and group therapies. One-on-one counseling gives clients individualized care in a safe, personalized environment. Clients work with their counselors to identify emotional, mental, relational, and environmental factors that contribute to addiction. Group therapy sessions afford clients the opportunity to learn and practice coping strategies, communication skills, and conflict resolution. When clients learn skills like these, they are empowered to successfully navigate life challenges without going back to opioids as a means of coping with stress.

Richmond CTC strives to create a warm and encouraging environment for every client. We understand the extent to which opioid addiction can destroy lives and relationships, and we also understand that with compassionate and professional treatment, every client can find the freedom to thrive in recovery.
