Many of us find ourselves feeling stuck or overwhelmed. And so many people struggle with their concerns alone, whether they are in fact experiencing isolation or whether they are surrounded by other people. Some worry they might burden others, some fear what others might think, and some struggle to believe they are worthy or deserving of support. As a counsellor and social worker, I believe we all need substantial supports in our lives. Whether the issues you're facing feel small or insurmountable, I strive to offer a space where you can share your experiences without feeling judged or ashamed.

Many people feel stuck in patterns of thinking and behaviour that feel internally problematic without understanding the root causes. With decades of experience in the helping profession, I am well versed in the questions and supportive guidance needed to find these answers and move forward in a healing journey. I work from an anti-oppressive and social justice minded lens, using a variety of modalities including Narrative Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).

Some of my focuses include trans affirming practice / working with 2SLGBTQ+ communities, Seniors, substance use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, chronic illness, men (or anyone) burdened by anger, people who have been labelled "treatment resistant".

For those interested, my name is Sam. I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of British Columbia. I offer direct billing to many third party insurance providers, extended health plans, Métis Nation BC, WorkSafeBC, WorkBC, MCFD Autism Funding Unit, and Variety of Hearts Foundation.
