Sheboygan Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is an outpatient opioid addiction treatment center located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. We offer outpatient addiction treatment to adults age 18 and older.

Treatment at Sheboygan CTC involves participation in medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which is a combination of counseling and the use of prescription medications. Medication-assisted treatment has existed for decades as a leading method of treating opioid addiction. Clinical studies show that when opioid addiction treatment involves the use of MAT, the results include increased treatment retention rates and reduced opioid-related deaths.

In the past, methadone was the only prescription medication offered when treating opioid addiction. Today, however, there are multiple options for medications that have been successful in helping people overcome opioid addictions. At Sheboygan CTC, we can provide prescriptions for not only methadone, but also for Suboxone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. All of these medications have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and have shown to be successful in reducing the uncomfortable symptoms that are typically associated with opioid withdrawal. By taking one of these medications, patients can experience relief from their withdrawal symptoms, which can help prevent ongoing cravings for opioid substances. This, in turn, allows patients to focus on healing from the psychological aspects of addiction as they begin their recovery journeys.

The specific medication prescribed to a patient at Sheboygan CTC depends on many factors, including substance use history, current drug use, medical history, and any mental health concerns. We understand that each client has a unique experience when it comes to opioid addiction, and effective treatment requires an individualized plan of care.

As part of medication-assisted treatment at our facility, patients can participate in both individual counseling and group counseling. In individual counseling, patients meet one-on-one with a qualified professional. Here, they can work to identify triggers that may lead to their use of opioids, discuss obstacles that may have prevented them from ending their drug use, and learn coping skills that can assist in preventing future relapse. During group counseling sessions, patients have the opportunity to meet with other patients who may be facing similar challenges. This can be a valuable way to give and receive advice and encouragement while also beginning to develop a support network that can last long after treatment has come to an end. Many factors play a role in opioid addiction. Our counseling sessions can help patients achieve healing, improve family dynamics and communication skills, pursue employment, school, or skills training, and make social changes that can support a new recovery-based lifestyle.

Our compassionate treatment center staff consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals who aim to create a warm and encouraging environment so that clients feel welcomed and respected as they take their first steps toward establishing an opioid-free lifestyle.
