I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut in Family and Consumer Science and of  Southern Connecticut State University in counseling. I retired from teaching junior and senior high in 2008. Currently I have a counseling practice in Oxford.  I am serving on the governing council of the Connecticut Counseling Association for the past 6 years.

My internship in counseling was at the high school and in a out patient eating disorder clinic. As a family and consumer science teacher I taught parenting, child development, family finance, nutrition and marriage and family.

I have also worked with overeater's anonymous for 29 years. OA helps people suffering from over eating, bulimia and anorexia. It addresses the reasons for eating and helps individuals live healthier lives by addressing their problems; Living life on life.s terms.Presently I am in private practice helping, couples, individuals and children with multiple issues and concerns.

In therapy I am engaged in active listening and reflecting individuals and couples concerns and problems. Through active listening I can help clients identify core concerns . I have multiple tools to give individuals to work on a daily basis at home in between sessions. Together I work with clients in developing a plan for getting better, improving their lives and working on the core issues. Clients leave sessions with hope and a sense of well being to carry them through the week.
Children's therapy uses multiply modalities of therapy depending on the child, it may include play therapy, art therapy and sand therapy  in sessions.I work within the confines of the family structure and at appropriate times key personal in the school setting. These venues can be very for the child to develop support for concerns and issues the child is dealing with.

I have been married for 39 years and have two married children with two granddaughter's and one grandson. My husband is my favorite person to spend time with and our children live on their own with good jobs and graduate degrees.

I am here to help people live productive, healthy, happy lives. I hope I can help you.
