Alicia Stalker is a licensed marriage and family therapist with independent practice since 2005, Alicia Stalker is dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating life's challenges. Her practice offers in person and online therapy tailored to address a variety of issues, including anxiety, social anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, anger management, body image, child or adolescent issues, codependency, divorce, infidelity, forgiveness, highly sensitive people, low self-esteem, self-acceptance, stress management, women's issues, and gambling addictions.
Alicia Stalker specializes in individual and couples counseling aiding her clients in improving communication and resolving conflicts as well as helping individuals through transitions and personal challenges. Her background includes extensive experience in trauma and PTSD, providing compassionate guidance to those in need.
Alicia Stalker’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing, and that relationships play a vital role in our overall well-being. She combines various evidenced modalities including Gottman's Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address both individual and relational concerns.
IIn addition, Alicia Stalker is a Department of Transportation SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) which means she is certified through the National Association of Addictions Professionals (NAADAC) to evaluation employees who have violated DOT safety sensitive positions with respect to alcohol and drug rules and regulations. This process involves her evaluating the employee and making treatment recommendations. Upon completion, the employee will return for a follow up evaluation where a determination is made whether the recommendations were successfully fulfilled to clear the employee to return to their DOT safety sensitive position. She will also establish a future testing plan.
Alicia Stalker accepts a variety of insurance plans that include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare and UMR. Her fee without insurance is $150.00.
Education: BS Northern Illinois University and MA from Antioch University Los Angeles.
Training includes the following:
· Education through the National Association of Addictions Professionals as a DOT/SAP
· Training on problem gambling through the California Problem Gambling Treatment Service Program through the California Office of Problem Gambling and training conducted by the Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming in partnership with the Illinois Council of Problem Gambling.
· Certified Trauma Specialist and Prolonged Exposure Treatment for PTSD through the Henry Jackson Center for Deployment Psychology - "Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and Their Families" and training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
