Making the decision to begin counseling can feel overwhelming, especially when you are used to being the person everyone else depends on. Many of my clients are high-functioning adults who appear successful on the outside but privately struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, life transitions, or the lingering effects of past experiences. They often tell me, “I know what I should do, but I can’t seem to move forward.”
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1999 and earned my Master of Social Work degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Throughout my career, I have worked in residential treatment, inpatient hospitalization, outpatient programs, and private practice. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of the challenges people face across different stages of life.My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and collaborative. I believe meaningful change occurs when clients feel understood, respected, and emotionally safe. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I help clients understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping them stuck. Together we work to build insight, develop new coping skills, and create lasting change.
I am a Master ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) Practitioner and also utilize approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR-informed interventions when appropriate. These methods can help clients reduce emotional distress, process difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.
I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, stress, grief, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are professionals, caregivers, and high achievers who are accustomed to caring for others while neglecting their own emotional needs.
My goal is not simply to help you feel better during our sessions, but to help you develop the confidence, resilience, and self-understanding needed to navigate life more effectively long after therapy ends. Whether you are facing a current challenge or seeking deeper personal growth, I strive to create a space where you can feel supported, understood, and empowered.
When I am not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and pets, writing, cooking, traveling, and exploring new creative projects. I believe growth remains possible at every stage of life, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue meaningful change.
