I have a passion for Clinical Counseling that developed through my 20 years of professional experience in the human services field. I find it incredibly rewarding to support youth, adults, and families in overcoming distressing and traumatic life events while helping them to realize their strengths and resilient qualities. I have experience supporting healing and growth in individuals who have experienced: high anxiety, depression, domestic violence, PTSD, grief and loss, suicide ideation, self-harming behavior and drug and alcohol issues. These experiences motivated me to complete my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria.
My lived experiences inform my practice. Marriage and raising three children, now young adults, increase my empathy, compassion, and understanding for youth, adults, and families experiencing diverse issues.
