Feeling stressed, sad, angry or anxious are normal reactions to too much pressure, lack of control or not knowing how to cope. Sometimes emotions can be overwhelming and frightening. When challenges persist, and if they seem to block you from living a positive and satisfying life, you might wish to seek help in finding solutions that can bring you and/or your loved ones back on track. My approach in therapy is gentle, flexible and adapted to your needs, such as helping you to better understand your thoughts, feelings and actions, as well as your loved ones' realities. It will help you shift towards a more positive outlook and help you improve the quality of your life .... now and into the future.
I introduce clients to Mindfulness, living in the moment, a positive attitude and relaxing Breath Meditation,
which has been proven to promote feeling more grounded and the ability to better work with and through Life Challenges.
At times the arts can effectively facilitate verbal expression. Artistic experience is not necessary at all, as the process is more important than the product.
I often use EFT, a method better known as TAPPING on specific meridian points (face and upper body), while verbally identifying and processing emotional blockages.
I have 25 + years experience in helping individuals ... couples, families, parents, seniors and their caregivers, and I am fluent in English, French and German.
I'm a certified counsellor, Registered Psychotherapist and Parenting Facilitator with a Master Degree in Expressive Therapies. I'm a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and I'm a registered and certified member of OAMHP (Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals)
EXPERIENCE : Besides being in private practice, I have worked at Halton French Catholic Schools as a therapist, with the Ontario Justice System and The Children's Lawyer of Ontario. I have volunteered my services to Big Brothers and Sisters, the Halton Women's Center, Wellspring, Canadian Music Competitions, The Kidney Foundation, individuals with cancer and disabilities and HIEC Women as Career Coaches. I am also on the Advisory Committee of ArtHouse, an initiative promoting children and youth mental health through the arts.
