I received my Social Work Degree from Ryerson University and is currently registered as a licensed social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Before embarking on 20 years of direct counselling experience, I had been a valuable employee to numerous government agencies, hospitals, courts, regional law enforcement agencies, probation and parole bodies and various women’s shelters, within the GTA. Predominantly my work with women’s shelters enabled me to establish my niche by providing counselling in the areas of domestic violence. This eventually opened a path which led me to establishing other principles such as alcohol and drug counselling, anger management, anxiety and depression to name a few.
Ultimately, I resolved to put my gifts and acquired education to work for myself by combining the personal and professional relationships I built over the years by studying and expanding various intervention strategies, all of which emphasize the therapeutic alliances between Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Psychotherapy. The resulting treatments proficiently and comprehensively provided extensive benefits to clients seeking support in dealing with a variety of impactful circumstances.
Amongst a sea of professionals I established C.S. Counselling Services as I fully understood as well as any of my colleagues that even when two or more people must cope with similar circumstances or diagnoses, no two human minds or sets of emotions function exactly alike, and no matter the age, social or ethnic background, or physical capacities, I can instill in clients how to love themselves through comprehensive physical, mental, and spiritual enrichment. Overall, the greatest satisfaction I can achieve comes from seeing troubled clients reach self-actualization by gaining strength and empowerment to confront their own inner conflicts.
At C.S. Counselling Services I strive to develop empathetic and compassionate caring in dealing with each client by developing mutual trust and human respect, and that no matter what the circumstance, the client is the single most important individual in his or her life. My non-judgmental, empathetic, and trustworthy approach has been seen to affect positive changes in men, women, children, adolescents, couples, and families because the client’s emotional health is always first and foremost – respected and in dedicated hands. My greatest legacy is etched in the hearts of clients whose lives I have helped to change for the better, “for we all smile in the same language”.
