East Tennessee Behavioral Health is a treatment center located in Knoxville, Tennessee, that provides best-in-class care for adolescents, adults, and senior adults who are suffering from symptoms of mental health concerns and co-occurring addictions. While in our care, patients receive treatment that is entirely customized to their individual needs and personal goals. We treat a variety of behavioral health concerns, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia, anxiety, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, dementia, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and co-occurring addictions. We offer several levels of care, including inpatient programs, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), to support a wide range of patient needs. Our inpatient treatment program provides services for adolescents, adults, and seniors who require acute crisis stabilization. Our adolescent inpatient program accepts teens ages 13-17, and our adult inpatient program accepts adults age 18 and older. The adult inpatient program offers several unique units for specific concerns, including a thought disorder and dual diagnosis unit, a mood disorder unit, and a geriatric unit to serve patients age 65 and older. Length of treatment spans an average of 10-12 days in the geriatric unit and approximately seven days in all other units, although actual duration will depend on the individual needs of the patient. Our partial hospitalization program accepts adults age 18 and older who may benefit from a step-down in care. Patients may begin treatment in our PHP without completing a higher level of care at our treatment center. Patients meet six to eight hours per day and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of group therapies, including recovery, community, general processing, and psychoeducational groups. These sessions may cover topics such as goal setting, medication support, independent living, and suicide prevention and are led by our compassionate counselors and social workers, who can provide guidance and support during your time at East Tennessee Behavioral Health. We offer an intensive outpatient program for patients who require a structured care program that allows them the flexibility to continue with work, school, or other daily living activities while receiving treatment. Patients can also access this program without completing a higher level of care at our treatment center. IOP patients meet three to five days per week for a minimum of three hours per day. We accept adults age 18 and older for this program, with the understanding that adults age 65 and older must be able to perform at a high cognitive level to benefit from therapies used, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). At East Tennessee Behavioral Health, we believe that aftercare is an essential component of treatment, and we begin planning for each patient’s discharge at the time of their admission. Just as we individualize treatment plans, we customize aftercare plans to best support the patient on their journey to lasting wellness. Our clinicians perform ongoing assessments to determine recommended aftercare plans once the patient is discharged. At our treatment center, patients can expect to receive the highest level of care every step of the way. We are committed to maintaining a warm, inviting environment that fosters empathy, trust, and patience. When you are ready to embark on your journey to healing, our staff can help you achieve your treatment goals through our outcomes-driven programs.
