Ft. Lauderdale Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is located in Tamarac, Florida. We are a premier outpatient addiction treatment center that offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adult men and women age 18 and older. We provide MAT for those who are struggling with addictions to fentanyl, heroin, morphine, OxyContin, and other opioids.

MAT at Ft. Lauderdale CTC combines the use of prescription medications with counseling for a whole-person approach that improves recovery outcomes. MAT is a thoroughly researched addiction treatment method that has been used for decades. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, as well as other globally recognized health organizations, recommend MAT because it is effective.

Medication-assisted treatment is especially helpful for individuals who have a long history of opioid addiction and those who have a higher risk for relapse. Return to use can lead to an accidental fatal overdose for individuals in withdrawal. The medications prescribed in MAT ease the painful side effects of withdrawal and reduce the likelihood of a fatal overdose.

Ft. Lauderdale CTC utilizes methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone to help our patients have a more positive recovery experience. The absence of painful and distracting withdrawal symptoms helps people focus on their recovery goals and provides a glimpse at how enjoyable life can be once free of opioid addiction. Prescribed medications are an important part of our treatment protocol.

Caring for our patients’ mental, emotional, and social health needs is equally important. To do that, we offer counseling from qualified mental health experts. Individual counseling sessions allow patients to share concerns, discuss obstacles to recovery, and find new ways to cope with the stress and everyday challenges that could trigger a relapse. Counselors provide nonjudgmental feedback and assist patients in developing the new skills needed to manage stress and solve problems without turning to opioids.

Group therapy sessions are led by clinicians and give patients the chance to interact with one another. Participants share support while practicing new communication and conflict resolution techniques they have learned in a controlled environment. Building a support network is a crucial part of recovery. Group therapy sessions give patients a foundation for ongoing support outside of the treatment center.

Patients entering the MAT program at Ft. Lauderdale CTC can expect a thorough yet easy admissions process. Each patient is assessed to determine whether our program is the most effective treatment. The information gathered from that assessment is used to develop an individualized treatment plan to address all their needs.
