As a licensed psychoanalyst I have the training to get to the root of a person's problems.  I was required to undergo my own psychotherapy before I could be licensed.  I have helped all kinds of clients who come with a variety of problems involving depression, anxiety, addictions, and the like.  I have also done my homework, researching and authoring 13 books on psychology.  With over 45 years of experience, I know how to zero in on a person's core issues, especially when they are stuck and don't know quite how to best help themselves.  You can read more about me on my website:  www.drschoenewolf.com.

Over the years I have dealt with numerous issues.  I specialize in working with creative people, helping them to get unblocked; with depressed or anxious people and people with self-esteem issues; and with people who want to understand and know themselves in the Socratic or Existential sense.

I graduated from three psychotherapy institutes and received a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Washington Square Institute in New York in 1981. I have been an Adjunct Assistant Professor of psychology at the Borough of Manhattan Community College since 2002. My books include 76 Typical Therapy Mistakes: A Workbook for Psychotherapists, The Dictionary of Dream Interpretation, The Art of Hating, Psychotherapy With People in the Arts, Jennifer and Her Selves and Turning Points in Analytic Therapy.

I am a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis and on the health insurance networks of Aetna, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross, Humana, Paradigm and Healthfirst.
