As a Registered Clinical/Counselling and Forensic Psychologist, I specialize in working with youth, adults and families that have been impacted by trauma.

We can experience trauma in many ways.  It can be the neglect and abuse we suffered from as children or adults, as well as exposure to different types of crime. No matter the form, trauma always has a significant and complex impact on our well-being. This impact can often be seen in development of different symptoms, which may escalate to a point of a mood, anxiety, conduct, or even a personality disorder. Given the nature of trauma and the turmoil these arising symptoms can cause, trauma can be very difficult to face and cope with appropriately. However, confronting trauma by seeking professional help is often the only way to effectively heal from it.

To facilitate this healing process, in my work, I use an integrative approach tailored to suit my client’s unique values, needs, experiences, and circumstances. I find this kind of approach important because it promotes healing through a non-judgemental, interpersonal, supportive, and cooperative therapeutic relationship. A therapeutic relationship that is open to the use of various elements of specific therapies.
