Going beyond "talk" and the tendency to stay in our heads, we will tap into your natural strengths, help you see what gets in the way, and work through the deeper emotional and psychological barriers that may keep you trapped in a cycle of suffering.

I am extensively trained in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and teach this approach to other seasoned clinicians. ISTDP has shown to be highly effective in treating multiple psychological problems. As an ISTDP-informed therapist I work with my clients in a deeply emotional way to help him get to the bottom of their difficulties.We can work together to get you to a better place. About Jack Tawil


As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) (MD license # 13725), I have work in private practice, have served as a Clinical Affiliate at George Washington University Counseling Center, and have held various posts at outpatient mental health clinics in the DC/Baltimore Region. I currently serve on the Faculty of the Intenstive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) Program at the Washington School of Psychiatry in Washington DC. 
 
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. I hold a Master of Social Work Degree from Catholic University in Washington D.C. and a Master of Science Degree from Central Washington University in Washington State. I have completed eight years of post-graduate training in psychotherapy from the Washington School of Psychiatry.
