I love my work as a relationship therapist! With my years of experience as a therapist, I notice that both emotional and physical intimacy is very important in a relationship.  I also enjoy working with individuals with a variety of different relational issues.  My specialty includes the treatment of communication issues, affair recovery, relationship and marital issues, anxiety, fears, anger management, self-esteem issues, depression, LGBTQ issues, gender and sexuality concerns, sexual trauma, emotional and physical intimacy issues, self esteem, among many others for individuals, and both traditional and non-traditional relationships.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor.  I have extensive training in sexual health at the University of Michigan. I also have training in various models of relationship therapy such as Emotional Focused Therapy and Gottman Therapy.  I do not believe that one model alone is right for every couple.  This is one of the reasons why I use a collaborative approach to all my clients.  There is not a one size fits all.
“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.” This is my favorite quote from Rumi.  This speaks to so many things in life and in relationships.  Negative intense emotions can affect our daily lives if we allow them to. These emotions can be anger, shame, guilt, or sadness. It can leave us feeling down and overwhelmed causing anxiety and may drive us to behave in ways we normally wouldn't. Sometimes it may be difficult for individuals in a relationship to relate to each other when issues of life get in the way or when one may not believe the other understands. My focus is to help you to connect emotionally while developing skills to communicate, validate, and understand each other.
My ultimate goal is to help you build change by creating hope and new growth for yourself and in your relationships. It is important to me that my clients feel supported in a safe non-judgmental environment. I find that compassion and validation is a vital part of the therapeutic relationship.
I understand that finding the right therapist to understand your needs in therapy is extremely important.  It can even be uncomfortable to reach out for assistance. I thrive to get you the best help possible.  If for some reason, I cannot help you, I am happy to refer to another therapist.  It is important to me that you get the help you need and want.
