Your struggles with the little -- and big -- traumas you've endured can manifest as a constant state of hypervigilance or numbness, making it difficult to relax or find joy in activities you once enjoyed and act as a block to allowing yourself the pleasure of intimate connection. You might experience flashbacks or intrusive thoughts that disrupt your daily routine, leading to feelings of fear, shame, or helplessness.

You might find yourself overwhelmed with feelings of shame and guilt due to your problematic sexual behavior, which can lead to a sense of isolation and a constant fear of being judged "if they found out." This inner turmoil may cause you to withdraw from social interactions, withdraw from intimacy with your partner(s), making it difficult to form or maintain these meaningful relationships. Professionally, this struggle can be equally challenging, as you might constantly worry about your behavior being discovered, impacting your focus and productivity at work, and creating a pervasive sense of anxiety that hinders your ability to perform to your full potential.
In your personal life, desire struggles can leave you feeling frustrated and confused, as your sexual needs and desires may not align with what you think they "should be" or what your partner expects. This can lead to a sense of inadequacy or self-doubt, making it difficult to fully enjoy intimacy and sexual experiences. In your relationships, these struggles can create tension and misunderstandings, causing feelings of rejection or resentment between you and your partner, and making it difficult to want to connect.

Being attracted to atypical things can be incredibly isolating, as you might feel misunderstood and fearful of judgment from those around you, leading to a sense of loneliness and secrecy. This internal conflict can cause significant emotional distress, making it difficult to form genuine connections and trust others. Professionally, you may constantly worry about your attractions being discovered, creating a persistent anxiety that affects your focus and productivity at work, and potentially putting your career and professional relationships at risk.

But you are not alone. This is where I can help.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and a Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor, with over 15 years of professional experience helping people work through their personal and relationship issues. As a sex-positive therapist, I use a compassionate and evidence-based approach to help you address the underlying causes of your sexual concerns. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to your problematic sexual behavior or sexuality concern, and develop strategies to make progress toward the goals YOU set, bringing your sexual behavior(s) back to a place of pleasure and get rid of shame, bring the peace of acceptance to your life, and/or bring the passion back to your relationship(s). Through the use of sex therapy, trauma healing, and cognitive therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, mindfulness, sex positivity, and Solution-Focused therapy, we work together to help you overcome the problems you're struggling with and build a healthier relationship with sex, others, and yourself.
Whether you're just beginning to explore treatment options for problematic sexual behavior(s), a different sexual concern, or have been struggling with the sexual and/or relationship issue(s) for some time, I am here to help and am committed to providing you with the support and guidance you need to overcome the struggles and live a happier, healthier life.
