I am committed to providing you with a confidential, compassionate and supportive atmosphere where you can explore the challenges you are facing in your life in a non-judgmental environment. Navigating your life can be tricky at times, it can be difficult to figure out ways to help yourself and you may decide that you need the help of a counsellor. I understand how hard it can be to seek help and I admire your courage and strength!
I believe that an individuals strength is a great starting place in the healing process and your strength will help us develop a plan that will best suit your needs. My goal is to help empower and motivate my clients as a way for them to lead their best life. I will encourage you to explore and / or share your story with me and together we can invite change into your life. I value clients diverse backgrounds, world views and life experiences.
A 15 year career in counselling, social services and continued education inform my practice as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and a Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C). I am a professionally trained counsellor with a Masters of Education (Counselling) from Acadia University, Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies from Cape Breton University, and Human Services Addictions Counselling Diploma from Nova Scotia Community College. I work from a trauma informed care lens, and am trained and educated in narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and client centered therapy.
I have worked with children, youth, adults, seniors and families in the community within the areas of youth outreach, behaviour modification, career transitions, career & life planning, intimate partner violence, crisis intervention, mental health, addictions, bereavement & grief, among others areas.

My confidential space and practice is located at 171-175 Main Street Unit 102 in Dartmouth, NS (inside Spartan Nutrition and Wellness). This location provides the convenience of being on several Metro Transit routes and has lots of free parking located at the front entrance of the building. It is also wheel chair accessible.
