Your life looks great on the outside. You have all the things that should make you happy but you don’t feel that way. You may be struggling with anxiety, unresolved past trauma, or relationship dissatisfaction. Maybe you've been using substances more than usual to cope with feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, like you are running on autopilot.

Perhaps you have been considering therapy for a long time but have been putting it off hoping things would get better. You’re used to handling your own problems so it can be hard to ask for help. Other people don’t understand, they think you are fine. You know something needs to change but you're not sure where to start. You want to feel like you are living not just surviving.

I provide a supportive space for individuals and couples to explore emotions and gain insight. Our work will not be a quick fix, it will involve deeper fundamental change and emotional healing, making you more capable to face challenges in the future.

You understand change is a process and you are ready to make that commitment. The therapeutic relationship is critical in successful therapy outcomes and we will take time to develop this foundation. We work collaboratively. Ready to get started? Book a free 15-minute consult- click HERE

I am a relational therapist, I use an integrative framework with an emphasis on psychodynamic and attachment models of therapy. I assist clients in exploring past experiences and relational needs to promote growth and healing. I have a supportive and straightforward approach to therapy, allowing individuals to take responsibility for their own actions and to move forward toward change.

I often work with people who have not have success with other forms of short-term therapy such as CBT. I understand that there is no quick fix to most troubles that bring people to therapy and believe the only way to achieve permanent and positive change is to address the cause of your difficulties while assisting you to cope along
that journey.

I have always had an interest in helping others. I spent several years working in the Peel District School Board and community mental health settings during and after my undergraduate degree. After obtaining my Postgraduate Certificate in Addictions Treatment and Prevention it was a short time before I realized trauma was where I wanted to focus my time. I spent several years taking additional training and continuing education courses to specialize in trauma therapy and eventually decided to return to school to obtain my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. I have also pursued additional training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and in several well-established methods of couples therapy including EFT, RLT and PACT.
