Addiction is a confusing, overwhelming, and powerful force. It is all- encompassing and takes over slowly or quickly in every area of one's life. Before long you don't know which way is up and are just struggling to get through the day...or hour. I believe knowledge is powerful in one's healing journey. I involve tailored psychoeducation within my sessions to allow an individual to gain knowledge about their unique struggles and experiences.. Together we uncover patterns of behavior that no longer serve you, understand why you developed these patterns, and discover new ways of living. I support individuals in rediscovering who they are, what they are passionate about, and what drives them. I combine a variety of tools and aspects from different therapy modalities for each individual after getting to know you. Therapy modalities I use, but are not limited to:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Psychoeducation
- Exposure Therapy
- Strength- Based Therapy
No two individuals are the same, so why would their healing path be any different. If something isn't working then we try something new! The goal is to continue movement on your path towards your desired destination and to be active in taking these steps.

Addiction never stands alone. We use alcohol and/ drugs to alter an undesirable state of mind. Addiction is often a symptom. It is crucial to understand what is behind the addiction and address it at the roots. I have specialty areas in the many struggles that lead to or result from substance use including but not limited to:
- Domestic Violence
- Emotional Abuse
- Sexual Assault
- Human Trafficking
- Codependency and Boundary Issues
- Low Self- Worth/ Low Self- Esteem
- Body Image Issues/ Disordered Eating
- PTSD
- Co-Occurring Mental Illness

I have extensive experience in the field of drug and alcohol addiction both personally and professionally as I am in recovery myself. I have worked at all levels of care in both the private and non- profit sectors prior to opening the doors of our private practice, including: Medical-Assisted Detox, Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, Co-Occuring Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs, Intensive Out Patient Programs, and I have also worked at a non-profit with the chronically homeless population in their encampments.

I have both a personal and professional history with the unique population of addicts who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic Violence, Emotional Abuse, and/or Sexual Assault. I have completed countless workshops, obtained certifications, and ran a Domestic Violence support group for 3 years in North San Diego County through a non- profit agency.
- Crisis Intervention Training (Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)
- Relationship Violence Assessment and Response Specialist (RVARS)
- Teen Ralationship Violence Workshop
