Hi there,

I am glad you are here. Since you are here I am assuming that something is just not feeling right and that you are ready to make a change.

Now that you are here I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

I have always had an interest in psychology and was curious to understand why people do the things that they do. So, I majored in psychology and minored in sociology. Along my college journey I became a lifelong member of the International Honor in Psychology. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). While taking courses for my bachelor’s degree I knew that I eventually would want to become a therapist. To fulfill this dream, once I received my bachelor’s degree I decided that I would go on to acquire my master’s degree. I obtained my master’s degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU). During my studies at SMU, I made the decision to go for a triple track in
Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor.

I can honestly say that I still believe that this was the right decision for me and I am so humbled to have been given the opportunity to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Although, I am therapist, I find that learning never ends and as we all know research is always evolving. With this being said, it is important to seek new and more advanced modalities that work even better than the previous ones. I regularly participate in workshops and trainings; I think it is important to be well versed and to have many tools in our toolbox to provide each client.

More often than not, I think to myself how grateful I am to have so many clients, that entrust in me to share their darkest secrets, their deepest fears, their most magical moments and their most traumatic experiences. These clients give me the opportunity to stand beside them throughout their lives venture.

With all that said,
I would love the opportunity to support you and guide you along your journey. The most important piece between the client and therapist is the clinical rapport. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment. I view psychotherapy as a collective process between client and therapist. My clients would describe me as nurturing and warm, but also direct. When in session with me, we will do work and I will make you think deeply. I help people who are suffering from anxiety and depression, people who feel stressed, and people who have experienced painful and traumatic life events.
I am specialized in working with trauma, PTSD, loss and grief, addiction, life transitions, depression and anxiety. I am an EMDR certified therapist and a certified trauma specialist. Lastly, having lived in Europe and Asia allows me to be culturally sensitive.
