Approach

Kristy is committed to helping everyday people who experience everyday problems and feels the best way to help her clients is to “meet them where they are”.  She believes in allowing her clients to set their own treatment goals and helping them when they are unable to identify where to begin.  She uses humor and a gentle, yet direct approach during therapy.  Kristy pulls from various theories to help her clients but focuses on how one’s thoughts, feelings and actions are connected and play a role into maladaptive behaviors.  Kristy enjoys engaging her clients in the therapeutic process through the use of play in therapy for children, games, and homework assignments for clients who need "a little something extra". On a case by case basis, Kristy offers ethical and HIPPA compliant distance counseling to clients via email, chat, or video/phone conferencing.
