I am a Registered Psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families.  I also have the privilege of providing direction and supervision to a team of Christian psychotherapists through my work at Meadowbrook Counselling and Healthcare Associates.  My background includes practicing as a Music Therapist in settings such as long term care, community programs for unhoused youth, inner city mental health walk-in clinics, as well as providing workshops and seminars for churches and parachurch organizations, ministry leaders and congregations.

You will find my approach warm and supportive, yet straightforward and 'down to earth'.  I am comfortable asking difficult questions and sitting in discomfort with you, as I believe change can only happen when we face what we are avoiding.  When someone first reaches out for help, the most important thing is that they feel heard, understood, and safe with their therapist.  Sometimes trust is established instantly, and sometimes this takes time, especially depending on your history and your comfort with trusting others.  It is my utmost privilege to take the time to get to know you and/or your family, and understand your goals and aims in seeking therapy.  Your goals may be seeking calm and peace, working through a difficult relationship, processing past trauma and abuse, seeking understanding of your family of origin, seeking to learn new communication skills, problem solving a hopeless situation, coping with a chronic illness or chronic pain, or any combination of these topics.

If you are open to faith, I am comfortable discussing together how your view of God and your relationship with God impacts your experience of life.  As a creative person myself and a music therapist by background, I also love including music and the arts in therapy as much as the client is interested.  This may include creative projects to help tell one's story, process a difficult moment, or share a piece of music to help describe a situation or feeling.  Sometimes music and creativity can express what words cannot, and sometimes re-engaging with your own creativity helps bring a sense of humanity and connection back to your life.

As you seek support for your own journey, or guidance on how to support a loved one struggling, please reach out and I would love the chance to connect with you and support you.   As mentioned above, I also provide supervision to my team of therapists at Meadowbrook Counselling and Healthcare Associates.  This includes student intern therapists who are completing their Masters degree programs in counselling and psychotherapy.  If financial need is a barrier for you, please reach out and we can help connect you with low cost options in our clinic as well.

There is hope and help available.  As hopeless as life may currently feel, it does not need to stay that way.  Please take the time to reach out and connect today.
