Hi there, my name is Magdalena, but I also go by Maggie.

I’m a relational and emotionally focused therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-worth concerns, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that our emotions and relationships carry important information about who we are, what we have experienced, and what we need in order to feel more connected, secure, and understood in our lives.

I primarily draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), with its emphasis on understanding, deepening, and transforming emotional patterns, especially within attachment relationships. I also integrate Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused approaches, tailoring each session to what feels most supportive and effective for the person or system I’m working with at any given time. This integrative approach allows us to slow down and understand emotional experiences in depth when needed, while also building practical tools, insight, and clarity for moving forward in everyday life.

In my work with individuals, I often focus on helping clients notice recurring emotional cycles, especially those connected to self-criticism, anxiety, or feeling stuck in relationships and life decisions. Together, we explore how these patterns developed, what they may be protecting, and how to create new emotional responses that feel more aligned with the life you want to live and the relationships you want to build. With couples, the work often involves identifying negative interaction cycles, increasing emotional safety, and supporting partners in expressing underlying needs, fears, and longings in ways that can be heard rather than defended against or shut down.

I also have experience working with adolescents, adults, parents, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences. I place strong value on cultural sensitivity, curiosity, and on understanding how identity, upbringing, and environment shape emotional experiences, coping strategies, and relationship dynamics over time. I aim to create a therapeutic space where clients feel respected, understood, and not judged for the ways they have learned to survive or cope.
Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you or changing who you are. It is about making sense of your emotional world, strengthening your relationships, and developing a clearer, more compassionate connection to yourself. Sessions tend to be active and reflective, often moving between deep emotional exploration and practical steps that support meaningful change outside of therapy. My goal is to help you feel more grounded in yourself, more connected in your relationships, and more able to move toward the kind of life, stability, and emotional experience you want for yourself.
