Memphis Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a premier outpatient addiction treatment center located in Memphis, Tennessee. Our comprehensive care approach to addiction treatment serves adults age 18 and older. We offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines the use of prescription medications with counseling to help individuals stop using opioids while also addressing the underlying social, emotional, and behavioral factors that contribute to addiction.

Treatment at Memphis CTC begins with an evaluation and the creation of an individualized addiction treatment plan. Our treatment center offers clients the option of methadone or buprenorphine. Medications are carefully overseen by physicians to make sure that a client receives the medication and dosage that best support their physical comfort while managing cravings.

MAT is a highly effective approach to treating opioid addiction. The success rate of MAT makes it the recommended opioid addiction treatment method by leading organizations like the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The medications used in MAT provide relief from the severe physical and psychological effects of opioid withdrawal and help reduce opioid cravings significantly.

Counseling is a central aspect of MAT at Memphis CTC. Our therapies include both individual and group sessions. Clients receive education on the science of addiction and learn how to identify, understand, and process their emotions in healthy ways. Counseling can have a transformative effect on how an individual perceives addiction and deals with challenging situations, leading to greater self-compassion and self-esteem. Coping skills training supports clients as they learn how to effectively manage opioid cravings. Clients learn to identify social triggers in their homes, workplaces, and relationships. We offer guidance on how to navigate these areas in a way that supports mental and emotional health while avoiding relapse.

Group counseling sessions demonstrate the benefits of creating supportive relationships with others in recovery. The U.S. is currently in the midst of an opioid crisis. Each year, the number of opioid-related deaths continues to rise. Now more than ever, there’s an urgent need to address this public health crisis. Yet despite the scale of this social issue, there’s still a stigma attached to addiction. Individuals in need of addiction treatment may feel shame, guilt, or embarrassment about admitting to drug use and asking for help.

At Memphis CTC, we understand the importance of providing compassionate care for those in need of addiction treatment. We strive to help each client feel understood, respected, and supported as they take the important first steps toward healing their body and mind and reclaiming their life and future.
