About Norma Stevens Norma Stevens is a Maryland Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and founder of IHS Psychotherapy and Counseling, LLC serving Howard County and the greater Baltimore area.  She has a Master's degree in pastoral counseling from Loyola College, is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.  She has over 12 years of clinical experience, is a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, and is part of the staffing for IFS trainings. 
 Being a therapist is a second career for Ms. Stevens.  She also has a Masters degree in Public Administration from The George Washington University.  She worked in public policy for 10 years.   She is married and has three grown children and her dog, Mocha.  She has lived in Maryland for 27 years.    Ms. Stevens considers it a privilege to work with her clients. Her compassion and warmth create a safe space where people are free to share their difficulties and pain, resolve troubling issues, and experience healing, change and growth.
Working collaboratively with Ms. Stevens in an empathetic, non-judgmental relationship, you can overcome the obstacles to living fully and joyfully with purpose and peace.  Clients achieve self knowledge and awareness, work through difficult circumstances, heal from painful experiences, and change their lives for the better.  Her experience and training have enabled her to provide high quality counseling to address:

  While part of you may want to reach out for help and relief, there may be other parts that are hesitating, have concerns or are skeptical.  All of these are welcome.   It is important that whomever you choose to work with is a good fit for you.  You can contact Norma through telephone or email.  She will set up an initial telephone consultation at no charge to address your questions and concerns.   

NOTE:  While we do not bill insurance companies directly, we do provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.  Many of our clients are able to receive reimbursement for our services.  Please check with your insurance company regarding your out-of-network behavioral health benefits.  When calling insurance companies, let them know you want to know the reimbursement for CPT code 90837 - 60 minute psychotherapy appointment.  You may also want to inquire about any deductibles.  We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.  HSA/FSA accounts can be used for individual therapy.
