The times are changing, and we all need resiliency to get through the current challenges. Stressors are at an all-time
high level, leaving many people unprepared for the situations they are experiencing. Under stress, our behavior can fall back to our default settings that were shaped in our early childhood. These patterns may not serve us or our families well. Learning new skills can give us the tools to develop appropriate responses and forge new neuropathways that will enhance the way we connect with the people close to us. Happiness comes from secure, connected relationships and finding moderation in the core areas of our lives.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Nutrition Therapist as well as Certified Life Coach. I take a truly holistic approach to helping you feel your best and improve your relationships. I have training in many trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, PIT (Post Induction Therapy), DART (Developmental and Relational Trauma), as well as a lot of couples’ work including RLT (Relational Life Therapy), PACT (Psychobiological
Approach to Couples Therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). I also have specialized in Equine Assisted Therapy. I have explored many approaches to complete my undergraduate degree and was trained to do EMDR using the horse's movement for the bilateral stimulation, as well as connection with the horse for grounding and safety. By including the sense of proprioception along with other modalities, the client can have a reparative experience and their negative cognitions become less triggering.
Understanding the origin of self-defeating patterns is the first step to making the changes that will improve

relationships with yourself and others. As we work with your Family of Origin, it is not for the purpose of blame, but to understand how your self-defeating behavior patterns got started. Awareness is the first step to making changes and allows you to live in the moment and with intention. You can overcome low self-esteem, ineffective boundaries, problems with moderation and control as well improve relational skills. Take the first step toward a more peaceful life.
I am the mother of three grown children, including a son on the autism spectrum. I am aware of the challenges a special needs child can put on a family and marriage, and I love to help those families find the strength and skills they need to navigate. Take the first step in improving your relationships and live life with intention!!
