Pinehurst Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a premier outpatient addiction treatment center in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Our medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programming is designed for adults age 18 and older of all genders. We serve people who are struggling to overcome addictions to prescription pain medication, heroin, fentanyl, and other opioids.

MAT utilizes therapy and prescription medication that helps alleviate the severe symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal. When opioid addiction treatment programs first began in the U.S. methadone was the only medication offered. Methadone is effective for many people, but it can cause adverse reactions in some people and is not effective for everyone. At our treatment center in Pinehurst, North Carolina, we are able to prescribe methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, and Suboxone for our patients. Being able to employ multiple medications makes it possible to treat more people.

Respected health organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), recommend medication-assisted treatment for the treatment of opioid addiction. The medications we use have been extensively studied and found to be highly effective in preventing relapse, especially when combined with whole-person therapies like those provided at Pinehurst CTC.

To address the social, behavioral, and emotional impacts of opioid addiction, we integrate group and individual counseling in our MAT program. Counseling helps our patients develop the important skills they can use to continue their recovery journey. During individual therapy, patients meet with a qualified mental health counselor to discuss concerns, behavioral patterns, and ways of thinking that have led to addiction. Our counselors are compassionate professionals who listen without judgment and offer practical feedback that patients can put into practice daily. In group therapy, peers can come together to share their setbacks and successes in recovery and provide mutual support. By engaging in therapy, patients can become better prepared to mend broken relationships, reenter the employment market, and manage the everyday stressors that could trigger a relapse.

Every patient at Pinehurst CTC receives an individualized treatment plan that is designed to meet their specific needs. During their initial assessment, our clinicians gather information by conducting health evaluations, reviewing the patient’s health history, including addiction history, and carrying out simple diagnostic testing. With a better understanding of any physical or mental health concerns, we are able to provide a high level of personalized care that can help patients build a sturdy foundation for their lives after treatment.
