I have spent over two decades in psychotherapy and counselling roles across the GTA. In addition to extensive private practice experience, I have also supported clients in corporate, educational, correctional, and not-for-profit settings.

I specialize in individual counselling for clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem & identity issues, and life transitions. I am a kind, empathetic listener, and I pride myself on the wealth of wisdom and lived experience that I bring to every session.

My clinical work is heavily influenced by Narrative and Person-Centred Therapy. On top of this, my educational background—undergraduate studies in English Literature, Theology, and Cognitive Psychology; as well as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology—greatly informs my therapeutic approach.

In short, I strive to help clients ask the Why? question, then support them with the tools to find their own answer.

WHY am I feeling anxious?
WHY can’t I make relationships work?
WHY can’t I get out of this funk?
WHY are my thoughts so scattered?
WHY do I have trust issues?
WHY I am unhappy?
WHY do I allow others to treat me this way?
WHY do I abuse drugs, food, or alcohol?
WHY do I have trouble loving myself?
WHY am I so afraid of being vulnerable?
WHY does my job leave me so unfulfilled?
WHY do I keep living out the same patterns?

I founded Whiteboard Counselling in 2019 based upon the founding principles of EMPATHY + EVIDENCE. Not only did I want clients to find a safe, caring place, I also wanted them to receive the latest in evidence-based psychotherapy support. I am proud of the clinic that we have created, and am honoured to have helped support hundreds of clients since our launch.

My research interests include the areas of: identity development; stress management and burnout; crisis and trauma recovery; assistance in values formation; as well as the application of principles of personal happiness. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), as well as being a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).

On the personal side, I have been married for over twenty years and have four children. I enjoy spending time with family, bingeing historical documentaries, middle distance running, and spoiling my three year-old havapoo, Ollie.

If you're feeling anxious, stressed, burdened, depressed, or simply misunderstood, please know that you are not alone. Myself and the entire team at Whiteboard Counselling are here to help.
