Meet Sarah

I’m glad you are here.  Each time you feel let down, disappointed, discouraged or despondent it’s not permanent. There’s another breath of air where you can exhale that feeling, shake out your body and know that you have another chance to heal, to grow and to transform.

My Approach

I honour who you are and I’ll meet you where you are as of today. My job is not to judge you, instead I will encourage and support you to be your whole self so you can bring forward the shame, guilt, or fear. This is how we can move through it. When hidden and held in these feelings take root. When we bring it to light and feel safe enough to share it, it cannot remain!

In session we’ll discuss and process what you need to that day. I focus on childhood experiences when they are relevant to how you are living now. Our young years can impact our relationships with ourselves and with others even now! I use neurodevelopment, the way our brains develop, to help you identify stuck unhelpful patterns and bring liberating change to your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

Through this journey my goal is to support you to live with the freedom to be yourself and thrive in the life you build.

We all want to be well, to express our unique and beautiful versions of ourselves.

My Experience

Through my own life I have struggled with the same issues as my clients. I utilize my own process of healing to empathize and truly recognize the difficulty in moving onward through stress, pain, loss, or change.  It is this attunement that truly resonates for my clients - to be fully seen, fully understood, and to be deeply heard.

My Passion

I came into therapy through environmentalism. During a medical anthropology undergrad I thought about what motivates people to help others, to care about the planet. It was the understanding that none of us do much for anyone else when we struggle that brought me into therapy. I am passionate about promoting wellness and expressing our own unique versions of health.

A Typical Session

I tend to recommend weekly sessions for the first 3-4 sessions with my clients. In these first sessions we build rapport, develop our relationship and I form my therapuetic understanding of how who you are influences how you're living. Within these sessions we explore your life and together we define your treatment goal. From there we assess frequency, cost, and the treatment plan. This is a collaborative approach where your expertise on yourself meets my training and education.

Benefits of Therapy

My clients report increased sense of self, new levels of personal awareness, positive changes in their relationships, and a deeper sense of acceptance for what they struggle with.
