Are you exhausted by depression and anxiety from various of life's stresses, losses, and changes? Do you have relationship problems, but the more you try to work them out the more confusing it gets? I can help.
My greatest joy is to guide my clients and to learn to transform past conditioned patterns. Everyone’s story is different, but the principles of healing is for me to truly listen. What you will take away is a clear understanding of yourself and the ability to change the things that make you, your relationships, and career much more fulfilling.
The first thing I would like to mention is that the people who walk into my consulting office, are the most courageous people. First, becoming aware of things that you weren’t aware of before, is half the battle.
You will feel all of my attention on a deep level, a compassion approach, and a non-blaming approach.
Conditioning from your early life is important, as it makes you see the spoken and non-verbal messages you received. Being loved for who you truly are, and not a pull between what mother wants for us and what father wants you to do. As children are afraid of a loss of love unless they accede to the wishes of their parents. Therefore, who we are and what we want becomes repressed and hidden. Much later in life the individual, as an adult, becomes depressed, but he doesn’t exactly know why. One of the take¬aways from therapy with me, is that we can become aware of past conditioning and transform your life as an adult into what you want out of life, and you do.

With relationships deep and honest communication with your partner builds trust. At first, you may be afraid to say what you really feel to your partner because of fear of retaliation. But if get into the habit of saying your truth (each of the partners) in a non-threatening way, you find that it usually brings you closer together, and develops trust that is the most important thing in a relationship.

• WHICH INCLUDES MINDFULLNESS WORK ON ANGER AND “RADICAL ACCEPTANCE” OF WHAT IS. SOMETIMES IT IS DIFFICULT TO STOP TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR PARTNER OR OTHERS. WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR REACTIONS AND BEGIN TO LOOK AT The UNDERLYING BELIEFS ABOUT YOURSELF, THERE WILL BE NO NEED TO CHANGE THE OTHER. INSTEAD, YOU WILL FEEL SELF LOVE, WHEN WORKED ON IN THERAPY, WHICH WILL HELP YOU TO FEEL ‘LOVABLE’ AND LESS DEMANDING OF YOUR PARTNER TO MEET EVERY ONE OF YOUR NEEDS. THIS PROMOTES HEALING AND CLEARING HIDDEN BELIEFS, OR EARLY BELIEFS AND CONDITIONING: It is my feeling that the wounded hearts of people stem from unmet needs at the developmental stages in childhood. These unmet needs become severe wounds, even into adulthood. They become stuck in the psyche where self-deprecating belief systems began, creating unhappy situations and relationships.
 AUTHENTICITY: It is astonishing that the human being automatically carries these heartbroken feelings into adulthood without being aware of it. When those childhood needs are not handled in a healthy, mindful manner by the childhood caregivers; when they fail to “see” the child for the authentic, unique little person that he or she is, it creates a belief system that is negative. Most people don’t realize, until they enter psychotherapy, that the wounds of the inner child, create in adulthood poor relationships, struggles attaining success, and a penchant for poor choices.

 REPLACING FALSE SELF WITH TRUE SELF: Learning about these false beliefs in oneself is the first step to releasing them, as they are no longer needed as an adult. In therapy the client learns that the old, negative defense mechanisms can be changed and replaced by positive ones which lead to a happier life. This creates much more joy, balance and self-esteem, as you work on making the unconscious contents conscious, little by little. The unconscious is where you repress painful feelings because at that time they were too scary. But they never disappear or die (e.g., Freud; and C.G. Jung), though it may seem that way. And when you bring them into the light of awareness, you will have a different perspective of yourself in relation to the world. This but touches upon the process of transformation from being in a habitual false self to transforming it into your True, or authentic self; in other words, your Spiritual Self.
In order to awaken a richer sense of being alive, I use dreams and fantasies that my clients have. They usually appear as opposites, indicating parts of the Self (not the Ego) that have been split-off from consciousness. Usually we of the Western culture are aware only of our “Persona,” the shallow but easier way of expression, repressing the deeper parts of the Self.
Then I proceed with helping clients to use their imagination with some of the characters of dreams and fantasies, through a Jungian process called “ACTIVE IMAGINATION” which is expressive in an imaginative way.
My main joy as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, compassionate atmosphere in which you may explore issues in relationships, career, self-esteem and anything that holds you back from the kind of life you desire and deserve.
Each person has a particular method in my eclectic bag that will make the most sense to each and helps to access the healing parts of yourself as it will be tailored to you. By applying complimentary therapeutic methods, I will help you to unearth longstanding behavioral patterns that you have been stuck in, and to remove obstacles or anything that holds you back. I help you to feel comfortable about diving in and retrieving the lost or REPRESSED parts of your psyche. Ultimately, this will free you to live a more fulfilling, meaningful life. Resolving conflicts and challenges in your life will transform your personality and uncover your true potential in order to lead a life that is worth celebrating!

Are you exhausted by depression and anxiety from various life stressors, losses, and changes? Do you have relationship problems, but the more you try to work them out the more confusing it gets? I can help.

I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist for thirty years. Whatever the specific problem the individual brings to therapy, the following methods lead to the underlying causes of the symptoms.

INSTEAD, YOU WILL FEEL SELF LOVE, WHEN WORKED ON IN THERAPY, WHICH WILL HELP YOU TO FEEL ‘LOVABLE’ AND LESS DEMANDING OF YOUR PARTNER TO MEET EVERY ONE OF YOUR NEEDS HEALING AND CLEARING HIDDEN BELIEFS EARLY BELIEFS AND CONDITIONING

It is my feeling that the wounded hearts of people stem from unmet needs at the developmental stages in childhood. These unmet needs become severe wounds, even into adulthood. They become stuck in the psyche where self-deprecating belief systems began, creating unhappy situations and relationships, sometimes for a whole lifetime.

AUTHENTICITY: It is astonishing that the human being automatically carries these heartbroken feelings into adulthood without being aware of it. When those childhood needs are not handled in a healthy, mindful manner by the childhood caregivers; when they fail to “see” the child for the authentic, unique little person that he or she is, it creates a belief system that is negative. In therapy the client learns that the old, negative defense mechanisms can be changed and replaced by positive ones which lead to a happier life. This creates much more joy, balance and self-esteem, as you work on making the unconscious contents conscious, little by little. And when you bring them into the light of awareness, you will have a different perspective of yourself in relation to the world. This but touches upon the process of transformation from being in a habitual false self to transforming it into your True, or authentic self; in other words, your Spiritual Self.

TRANSFORMATION. LETTING GO OF PAST CONDITIONING AND WOUNDS CREATES A THIRD SELF, OR TRUE SELF. HEALING THE FALSE SELF IN THERAPY CREATES A NEW SELF AS THERAPY HELPS THE INDIVIDUAL TO UNDERSTAND INNER CONFLICTS AND TO CHANGE THEM: Dr. C.G. Jung coined the term “transformation” to mean a spiritual and psychological process by which the individual raises her consciousness by a process of “bringing the opposites together.” It is also called Psychological “Individuation” (e.g., “Samadhi” from Vedanta or Yoga Science; “Nirvana” by the Buddhists; and “The Philosopher’s Stone” by the Alchemists, who are also involved with bringing the opposites together). There are many more parallels to Jung’s theory of Individuation to Eastern Philosophies and other Esoteric teachings. Jung researched every religion from the Far East, including Chinese Confucianism, Taoism, and many more, as the Western world has lost its sense of experiencing the inner world, being so preoccupied with materialism.

Jung also traveled to East Africa; on his first trip he spoke with a few tribes who were isolated from civilization. Thus, they had no way of being influenced, by our collective thoughts and attitudes, or “race consciousness” (the manner in which few people think for themselves). Thus, there is a collective force that resonates with the mindless attitudes of our overly civilized society.

Therefore, the primitivism of the primitive tribes, made them more in touch with their own specific images from a second kind of “Collective unconscious” including dreams, and a way of dealing with unconscious images. Therefore, these primitive tribes, for example the Elgonyi Tribe in the Labrador Mountains on the Uganda side of the main mountain, are closer to God’s Voice or messages, without the logic that our culture is immersed in. The object is to bring the opposites together, as one-sidedness leaves much to be desired.

We overly civilized people must learn that there is an important part of the “inner Self” that we need to get in touch with. With a skilled Jungian therapist who can guide and support the individual, it is a wonderful way of discarding the noise in one’s head due to society and everyday life.

Jung’s plethora of theories fly far and above Freud’s. Although he does give credit to a few of Freud’s discoveries. One of the things that Jung differed from Freud about is the word Libido, which he thought to mean the sexual urge. Jung feels that the term “Libido” means Life Force or Psychic Energy, similar to the way Yoga Science views it, and even has an important myth which tells it all: The coiled-up serpent at the base of the spine begins to rise up through the sacral chakra, solar plexus, heart center, throat chakra, the Ajna Chakra which is the space between the eye brows, then up to the crown chakra. This particular Myth is Hindu; although I use Myths from cultures all over the world

In our overly civilized society with its perfectionistic ideals, the collective unconscious has taken a dive regarding mental health and balance. Other cultures are more astute to the value of mythology, while we have lost our most valuable traditions that would bring us to our True Selves.

In psychoanalysis, I use many of Jung’s unique modalities with individuals, which prove that the psyche is more profound than one thinks. The psyche in each of us responds to images from the unconscious, the inner richness that inhabits us. The language of God, the creative power of the Universe, which can be found in dreams, mythologies across the entire world; even motifs from literature and the film industry can help to bring us back to the sense of the mysterious, the sense of the natural mind.

When we are stuck in unhealthy patterns (“COMPLEXES”), we may retrieve a sense of the “INTERIOR SELF” from the images of the Collective Unconscious through dreams and mythologies. The Collective, Higher Intelligence, or “God-Mind” has been in existence for thousands of years before mankind had even inhabited the earth.

Suppose that one person has had difficulty all his/her life saying “no,” or doing what is necessary to remain true to herself. Or, he feels inferior when he does not live up to certain expectations of society. Or she denies her needs to become a caretaker of others because it is familiar though unfulfilling. But she continues in the pattern, for fear of abandonment, until she involves herself in psychotherapy.

These patterns become so built up that it is similar to weighing scales, which can weigh down all the way to one side. When unconscious ideas, feelings and images become so one sided, they must be worked on in therapy in order to bring them into the light where one can see them and begin to bring the opposites together, and the scales balanced. Then the individual is able to use his/her full potential[ST1] which is part of what brings happiness.

My main joy as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, compassionate atmosphere in which you may explore issues in relationships, career, self-esteem and anything that holds you back from the kind of life you desire and deserve.

My eclectic approach to therapy (See section “About Saranya;” and “Specialties”), helps you to access the healing parts of yourself as it will be tailored to you.
