Hello, I'm Sharon Hale!

Have you ever noticed that even despite our best efforts, it seems that we can't avoid conflicts or relationship issues with other people? Even if we're able to resolve things most of the time, there is always the inevitable conflict that will come up eventually.

If you HAVE been able to successfully and consistently avoid conflict for even a year (maybe even just a month!), while still having strong and secure connections with others, then can you reach to me and share your secret? Because I haven't been able to figure that out.

Which is pretty disappointing, because I have spent a lot of time and money trying to discover the way to prevent conflicts. I've even made my career around it - and I'm embarrassed to say that I still get into my own tense moments with friends and family.

To be clear, though, I have learned a lot.  I do know how to resolve things pretty quickly, and satisfactorily, especially if the other party is open to resolving things with me. And when the other party isn't open to resolution, I've learned how to learn from it, and move forward from that pain without unnecessary shame.

I've also learned that my efforts of avoid conflicts (and I was pretty good at it) left my relationships feeling pretty distant and shallow. I spent so much time being a "chameleon" that I wasn't being myself.

It's a difficult balance, right? Being your true self, honoring the true self/feelings of others, and having a full relationship?

It is possible, just not without some conflict now and then.

All that to say: If you're interested in learning how to balance your relationships with others while still being true to yourself, then please reach out to me! I'd love to support you in your journey.

Frequently Asked Questions:

 Are you in-person or virtual?
Both! I have an office where I do in-person sessions and telehealth sessions. If you meet with me virtually, you’ll see my office behind me unless I work from home that day!
The address of my physical office is:
9900 SW Greenburg Road, Suite 200

Tigard, OR 97223

What days and times are you available?

Tuesday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.

How long are your sessions, and how often should we meet?
My standard session length is 55 minutes. If you want to meet longer, I can do 90- or 120-minute sessions based on my availability. I’ll prorate the cost of the session based on length.

I recommend weekly or bimonthly sessions to get the most momentum and maximize progress.

What’s your professional training and experience?

I graduated from George Fox University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2011.

After graduation, I spent several years working primarily with children and families. Through this work, I started to realize that my real passion was in helping couples reconnect and thrive. In 2017 I started training extensively in Emotionally Focused Therapy and am now certified as an EFT therapist though ICEEFT. I’ve also served on the board of directors for my local EFT community, PCEFT, since 2020.

In 2023 I also began training in a therapeutic model specifically designed to address complex trauma: Neuroaffective Relational Model. This training has significantly impacted my work with couples and individuals and I hope to continue my training through 2024.

How do I set up an appointment?
Our next step will be to set up an initial “meet and greet” consultation to ensure I fit your needs well. We’ll spend about 25 minutes discussing your situation and therapy goals and ensuring our schedules align.
Please send me a message to schedule that consultation, or you can see my calendar here: https://halecounselingnw.clientsecure.me/
