I empower individuals to accept and work through the challenges that life presents to them, large and small. Facing life head-on requires honesty and compassion for oneself and others, and a deep understanding of how we became the person that we are today. I believe that personal growth and insight allow us to develop deeper relationships - with ourselves, significant others, our children, friends and family. Using the strength of a nonjudgmental, genuine relationship with my clients, I have helped individuals and families for over two decades.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, holding a masters degree in Psychological Services from the University of Pennsylvania, and a masters and a doctorate in School Psychology from Temple University. My early career focused on children, adolescents and families, offering me a unique perspective on my current focus on young adults and adults. While at Penn, I was trained in Structural Family Therapy at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, after which I worked with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children, adolescents and their families for many years. Over the past 10 years, my private practice has focused on children, adolescents and adults dealing with behavioral and mood disorders, parenting concerns, divorce and single- and co-parenting, family relationship problems, and women's issues.
My private practice in Ardmore, PA offers a safe, nurturing place for young adults and adults to explore feelings, thoughts, images and beliefs that may be overwhelming or confusing. I have specific expertise in working with young women coping with the challenges of college, and with women of all ages adjusting to transitions associated with parenting and relationship status changes, as well as family of origin issues. My orientation is eclectic, as I value the integration of various techniques and approaches. In addition to Structural Family Therapy, I have been trained in and incorporate client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
