Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center View Specialties

Southern Indiana Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a leading provider of opioid addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older in Charlestown, Indiana. Our premier outpatient addiction treatment center offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines the use of prescription medications with individual and group counseling.

Opioid-related death rates in the U.S. continue to rise, and traditional counseling alone often doesn’t provide sufficient support for overcoming the addictive effects of opioids. At Southern Indiana CTC, we address the unique challenges of opioid addiction by using medication-assisted treatment. Methadone used to be the only medication approved for use in MAT. Over time, however, clinical studies have shown that other medications can also treat opioid addiction safely and effectively.

All MAT medications available are approved by the FDA. The FDA recommends that for MAT to best address each client’s unique needs, a treatment center should offer the full range of medications. Despite FDA recommendations, many treatment centers continue to only offer methadone as a MAT medication option. In keeping with the FDA recommendation, Southern Indiana CTC can provide clients with prescriptions for methadone, naltrexone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. It is our goal to give our clients every tool available to combat the destructive grip of opioid addiction.

The medications used in MAT provide a unique form of support for countering opioid addiction, but they don’t address underlying causes and concerns. That’s why MAT includes group and individual counseling sessions. Our therapies work to help clients develop skills and build a foundation to support long-term recovery.

Southern Indiana CTC places an emphasis on individualized care and respect for every client. If a client is struggling against relapse, is not receiving adequate relief from medication, or is facing life challenges that require additional counseling, our treatment team and individual counselors are available to provide guidance and support.

The caring team at Southern Indiana CTC understands the difficult emotions that surround opioid addiction. Individuals often feel guilt, shame, and embarrassment about addiction, yet the choice to seek help can create fear, anxiety, and even resistance. Our staff strives to create a welcoming, encouraging environment. We make the intake process straightforward and work to help every individual understand that healing is possible with professional help.

At Southern Indiana CTC, we hope to provide every client with the physical, mental, and emotional support needed to stop opioid use and establish a lifestyle that supports long-term fulfillment and wellness.
