Often the first step is the hardest and I'm here to help you through. I provide support for difficult life transitions, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, challenging negative and limiting self-beliefs, and overcoming barriers to goal setting, improving your relationships, and increasing resilience.  I have experience supporting both individuals and couples in a wide range of concerns including anxiety/stress management, depression, grief, illness and pain, as well as relationship issues. I believe that increased self-knowledge and self-compassion are the pathways to building a meaningful values-driven life.

I am a compassionate and dedicated psychotherapist who specializes in working with individuals and couples living with chronic illness and chronic pain. Through lived experience and study, I have developed a deep understanding of the complex interplay between physical health and psychological well-being. My approach is rooted in a biopsychosocial model, recognizing that our physical health not only affects the body but also deeply impacts our mental, emotional, and social well-being. Central to my practice is assisting individuals in navigating the emotional journey of living with a chronic health condition Whether it's helping them come to terms with a new diagnosis, managing the psychological impact of ongoing symptoms, or coping with the stressors of treatment, I offer a safe and empathetic space for clients to explore their feelings and concerns.
I also enjoy helping clients learn to break patterns of self-abandonment, self-doubt, harm and shame, while increasing the capacity to set effective boundaries and locate inner resources for improved self-confidence. Together we will work toward uncovering the roots of recurring relationship and behavioral patterns, as well as building a greater sense of trust both internally and in relation to others.

As a Registered Psychotherapist and Recreation Therapist, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on compassion, collaboration and respect.  I use an empathic, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach which draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, as well as additional training in Gottman couples therapy.

Taking the first step toward improving your mental wellbeing can be terrifying! Your emotional safety is important to me. If you're looking to explore how counselling can help I am happy to offer a free consultation where we can get to know each other further and answer any questions you may have. I offer counselling exclusively through accessible video and/or phone sessions to clients residing anywhere in Ontario.
