ABOUT Tania Punjabi Suarez, MSEd, LPC, LMHC, NCC:
With a decade-long background in the corporate sector, I bring well-rounded experience to my work. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in both Communication and Psychology from the University of Utah and a Masters of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University in New York City.
I did my graduate training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in their Oncology unit. I conducted individual therapy and facilitated a mind-body support group for advanced stage cancer patients. I continued my work in cancer wellness with Gilda's Club in NYC, running groups at their West Village clubhouse and on site at local hospitals. I also conducted individual therapy at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I now work with Cancer Support Community Atlanta and facilitate various wellness groups on and off site. I spent 5 years in community mental health where I strengthened my proficiency in working with individuals from various cultural, ethnic, socio-economic backgrounds, and treated a range of presenting issues. I've also worked in HR consulting and an EAP, counseling employees of Fortune 500 companies. In all of these settings, I have worked with women struggling to conceive, grieving through miscarriage and loss, and dealing with postpartum disorders. I have received certification in treating Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders and am an active member of PSI Georgia. Finally, I had a thriving private practice in Chelsea in New York City, which I recently left to relocate to Atlanta. I currently work with a group practice, Whole Heart Psychotherapy, and also maintain my private practice.
