Everybody has challenges in life. Most of us deal with our problems pretty well but there are times that things that don’t quite work out as we expected. Sometimes, frankly, we get stuck. It happens to everyone! We might be noticing that we are repeating some unhealthy patterns. We might be aware that we have tried for some time to fix a problem but nothing seems to be working. Then there are times that we get to the point that we don’t know where to turn. Counseling is an opportunity to engage in a dynamic and interpersonal relationship with someone who has made a life commitment through graduate education and years of training to help people in difficult times.

Counseling is an opportunity to tell your story and consider the areas of your life where there is difficulty and how to rewrite that story. That story is rewritten through understanding triggers, challenging personal myths, developing new skills, establishing healthy boundaries, learning good communication skills and much more. There are many different styles of therapy and therapists. The most important thing to know when deciding on a therapist is if this person “fits” you. Not all therapists fit all people. We would very much like to help. What can Harvest House Counseling help with?

How it works:

Step 1

Send us a message or give us a call at (315) 663-7060. You will speak with John, our Office Manager. He is really nice! If he doesn’t answer, expect a call back within 24 hours. John will set you up with an appointment and answer any questions that you may have about fees and insurance coverage. We strive to set every appointment within 5 business days!

Step 2

After you have set an appointment you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include the office address and parking instructions. On this website, you can find directions as well as images of the front of our buildings.

Step 3

When you arrive, please have a seat in our waiting room. Likely your therapist will be in session. When the session is over, your therapist will come out to meet you. If you have trouble finding the office, please give us a call at (315) 663-7060.

Step 4

During your first appointment, your therapist will discuss our HIPPA Form and Informed Consent Document. You will be asked to sign the acknowledgment of these forms. For the remainder of your appointment, your therapist will take time to gain a deeper understanding of your presenting concerns and needs. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about Harvest House or the therapy process. Your therapist will also provide you with their business phone number.

You may cancel or reschedule future appointments by contacting your therapist directly, or by contacting John at (315) 663-7060.

It’s that easy!
