For senior adults ages 65 and above, TrustPoint provides age-appropriate psychiatric care in a senior unit. This service is designed for older adults who are experiencing behavioral problems related to dementia or another cognitive disorder, as well as those who have been struggling with mood disturbances or related problems that are associated with grief, loss, or other lifestyle adjustments.

For individuals who have a secondary psychiatric disorder along with a primary medical diagnosis, treatment will occur in the medical/psychiatry program. Common primary medical diagnoses among patients in the medical/psychiatry program include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), urinary tract infection (UTI), sepsis, and pneumonia.

TrustPoint Hospital’s physical rehabilitation program is optimal for men and women who are experiencing functional limitations as a result of stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury, and severe arthritis. Individuals who are struggling with the effects of Parkinson’s disease and certain cardiac and pulmonary disorders may also be served in the physical rehabilitation program.

TrustPoint Hospital is also prepared to provide effective treatment services, including detoxification if necessary, for individuals who have a primary medical or psychiatric diagnosis and who are also dealing with substance abuse and addiction.

Men and women who can benefit from structured step-down support following their completion of inpatient care for a psychiatric concern may be ideal candidates for TrustPoint Hospital’s intensive outpatient program (IOP). The IOP option is also optimal for individuals whose psychiatric needs are not severe enough to warrant the intensive nature of treatment in an inpatient environment.

All individuals who complete care at TrustPoint Hospital will receive detailed discharge plans to ensure that they have access to the services and resources that will support their continued recovery efforts.
