Village Behavioral Health Treatment Center View Specialties



Village Behavioral Health is a licensed and accredited program where adolescents ages 13 to 17 can receive comprehensive treatment services for a wide range of mental and behavioral health concerns including, but not limited to, the following:

-Anxiety disorders
-Depressive disorders
-Bipolar disorder
-Extreme aggression
-Self-harm
-Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
-Trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD)
-Schizoaffective disorder
-Substance abuse and addiction
 
At Village Behavioral Health, adolescents have the opportunity to heal in a unique environment that is conducive to reflection, introspection, and revitalization. Housed on 65 serene acres in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Village Behavioral Health provides young people with the opportunity to remove themselves from the stresses and pressures of everyday life.
 
Within this secluded and supportive atmosphere, adolescents work in close collaboration with experienced professionals to address and overcome the issues that have been preventing them from achieving to their greatest potential. While they are healing at Village Behavioral Health, adolescents also participate in a robust academic program.

During a young person’s time at Village Behavioral Health, he or she may work with master’s level therapists, certified activity therapists and substance abuse therapists, registered nurses, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, a psychiatrist, a physician, credentialed teachers, and other experts as needed.
 
In addition to contributing significant skills and expertise to the treatment environment, the professionals who work at Valley Behavioral Health are also committed to ensuring that our center retains a nurturing and supportive atmosphere in which young people are treated with dignity and respect.
 
Depending upon each adolescent’s specific needs and goals, personalized treatment at Village Behavioral Health may include medication management; individual, group, and family therapy; a host of experiential therapies; and an introduction to the 12-Step recovery model. Therapeutic approaches employed at Village Behavioral Health include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing.

Academics are provided via The Village Academy, which is a fully accredited private school. Features of specialized services at The Village Academy include special education services for students whose emotional disturbances have created learning problems, remedial education for those who have struggled to make consistent progress in their home schools, and advanced opportunities for gifted students. Staff members at The Village Academy coordinate with each student’s home school to provide an optimal educational experience.
