Western Michigan Comprehensive Treatment Center View Specialties

As a premier opioid addiction treatment facility in the state of Michigan, Western Michigan Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides individualized medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with symptoms of opioid addiction. Located in Grandville, Michigan, Western Michigan CTC offers leading comprehensive care with a whole-person approach to helping patients reach and maintain recovery.

Our professionals are dedicated to providing compassionate, effective, evidence-based outpatient addiction treatment. MAT blends the use of talk therapies with FDA-approved prescription medications. When someone begins using opioids, their body adjusts and chemically alters itself to accommodate the substance. When the body no longer is exposed to that substance, it must alter itself again. This period of readjustment, known as withdrawal, can produce uncomfortable symptoms that may vary for each person.

The medications used in MAT can diminish or even eliminate the uncomfortable symptoms that accompany withdrawal from opioids. They can also curb cravings, allowing patients to focus more completely on their recovery needs and goals. Years ago, when MAT was first acclaimed as an effective treatment option, there was only one medication available for use. Today, our team at Western Michigan CTC is proud to offer four: methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and naltrexone.

We provide talk therapy in conjunction with these medications in the form of individual therapy and group therapy. Our counselors lead sessions, with the ultimate goal in mind of treating the whole person and not just the addiction. The mind, spirit, and body must all be considered for full recovery to be achieved. Individual therapy is beneficial for helping patients gain an understanding of addiction on a personal level. They can focus on triggers that led to opioid use in the first place. With the help of a counselor, patients can learn valuable coping skills they can rely on for the rest of their lives.

At our opioid addiction treatment center, group therapy sessions are designed to help patients establish and build support systems and learn from the experiences of others who are on a similar path. As patients progress through treatment, MAT can significantly improve their ability to focus on themselves and reach recovery.

At Western Michigan CTC, we believe that complete recovery from opioid addiction is possible. We are here to support our patients every step of the way as they rediscover a happy, healthy life free of opioid use.
