Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers a comprehensive care approach to opioid addiction treatment for clients in and around Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Adults age 18 and older can participate in medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which combines the use of prescription medication with counseling, at our outpatient addiction treatment center.

At Winston-Salem CTC, we know that every individual’s substance use history, recovery goals, and lifestyle are unique. Our one-on-one counselors work with clients to provide individualized guidance and direction. Clients learn to identify mental and emotional health concerns and social, relational, and environmental challenges. When these areas receive sufficient attention, clients are able to clearly assess and address obstacles to long-term recovery.

Our group therapy sessions bring additional benefits that can only be experienced in a group setting. Clients build relationships with other individuals who are committed to overcoming opioid addiction. They learn firsthand the power of having a group of peers who can understand and support them. Group sessions offer clients a form of understanding they may not receive from well-intentioned family and friends who lack personal experience with addiction and recovery.

As our counseling services help clients build coping skills and learn how to avoid relapse, the medication component of MAT provides the stability and support they need to succeed on physical and psychological levels. MAT medication is a valuable tool for helping clients successfully stop using opioids. Decades of research shows that MAT provides a unique and highly effective form of support for treating opioid addiction. The medications used in MAT are clinically proven to significantly increase recovery outcomes. This leading approach to opioid addiction treatment offers clients relief from opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The medications also help stabilize brain chemistry. This form of support is crucial as clients learn to manage the many physical and emotional changes that occur in the early days of recovery.

MAT at Winston-Salem CTC may involve the use of methadone or buprenorphine. Our premier treatment center provides these two medication options to increase client success. If one medication is not providing sufficient relief, our physicians have the flexibility of prescribing an alternative.

At Winston-Salem CTC, we strive to treat each client with respect and compassion as they seek to overcome opioid addiction. Our programs are designed to support clients on all levels. When a client receives support and education in an accepting, encouraging environment, they become empowered and motivated to overcome challenges and succeed in building a life free of opioid addiction.
