Zakary is a Master of Social Work counsellor and a registered social worker
(RSW) with the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW). Zakary offers
comprehensive and personalized clinical assistance to individuals, couples, and
families. Zakary's approach combines evidence-based and holistic perspectives
to address various issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and
navigating complex relationships. Zakary is a strong advocate for the
LGBTQIA2S+ community and practices from an anti-oppressive and non-pathologizing
standpoint. Zakary aims to create a welcoming environment that fosters
genuineness, transparency, warmth, comfort, collectivism, and empathy.
Zakary has diverse experiences in child protection, advocacy, and supportive
services and offers a judgment-free space for individuals to understand their
feelings and reactions. Zakary specializes in analyzing and evaluating
relationship dynamics and has experience working with couples and families

facing conflicts, infidelity, separation, and divorce.
 Zakary tailors his approach to each unique relationship and actively
collaborates with the individual or family to promote healing. Additionally,
Zakary possesses specialized knowledge in dealing with grief, loss, and trauma
issues, aiming to improve coping and overall quality of life. Zakary is
described as a high-energy and committed counsellor who seeks to meet the needs
of his clients by coordinating resources and program referrals and working

effectively with other professionals.

Zakary also support children's having a voice in the decisions that impact
them. Zakary’s approach is to help create understanding and, when appropriate,
to support connection and healing in relationships. Zakary provides and
collaborates with other professionals to conduct clinical assessments in
several areas, including family reunification assessments and Views of the

Child Reports / Section 211 Reports.
 Zakary practice several therapeutic modalities, including Response-Based
Practice, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, and trauma-informed
therapy, Mindfulness & Somatic interventions, Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectal Behavioural
Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy. In addition, Zakary
holds Certifications in the understanding and utilization of the CFCSA and FLA,
Level 1 & 2 Gottman Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy Basic Training,
Enhanced and advanced SWIM interview training through Justice Institute of BC,
certified training in Views of the Child Reports / Section 211 Reports through
Justice Institute of BC, and Basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing therapy through EMDRIA.
